The Sayers House has a street appearance of Mission-like solidity with battered walls and deep-set windows. Says the owner, "I enjoy...walking in the front door and being immediately calmed and awed by the beauty of the lake." The house is 'L-shaped' creating a positive outdoor space overlooking the lake which is shielded from the street. Circulation through the house is from room to room, eliminating corridors and hallways, and letting rooms relate more intimately." – 1998 AIA Austin Homes Tour
