| The new addition was conceived as a simple gesture: a long gallery connecting the carport to the house, relieving the living room of its entry function. The gallery serves double duty: a utilitarian duty of "covered path" and "entry", but more importantly an organizational duty, separating the landscape into discreet rooms, creating an inviting privacy from the street and opening the living spaces of the house to the newly defined back yard. The spaces of the original bungalow were remodeled, with a raised ceiling covering the kitchen, living and dining rooms. |
